Results 2025 - The Traditional Cob Registry annual show

In February, Penny kicked off the show season with great enthusiasm, taking part in the Traditional Cob Registry's Annual Show. This highly anticipated event allowed her to lead some of the most beautiful traditional cobs in the industry. The day began bright and early, with Penny hitting the road at 7 a.m. to ensure she arrived at Mullingar Equestrian by 8 a.m. This early start afforded her the opportunity to familiarize herself with the showgrounds, assess the different arenas, and devise a strategic plan for handling the horses throughout the day.

As the competition commenced, Penny’s first responsibility was to lead the stunning 2-year-old colt 'Son of a Cowboy,' sired by 'Casino Cowboy.' This remarkable young horse, owned by Anthony Corbally, showcased his potential and earned an impressive second place in a strong class during his debut outing. His performance set a positive tone for the rest of the day.

Following this achievement, Penny assisted Fiadh in the ridden cob class, leading the wonderfully dependable Pedro. Fiadh rode Pedro with remarkable skill, displaying her brilliant rising trot and salute with finesse. The duo’s hard work and dedication paid off as they secured a fantastic first place in their class, further highlighting their promising partnership.

The day continued with the mares class, where Penny had the absolute pleasure of leading the gorgeous piebald mare 'Kilmurray Kelly.' Under her guidance, Kelly performed beautifully, capturing a remarkable second place among a competitive field of over 20 mares. Both Pedro and Kilmurray Kelly are owned and sourced by Kilmurray Irish Cobs, a testament to the exceptional quality of their breeds.

As the event progressed, Penny had the unique opportunity to handle Eddie Dignam's sturdy bay cob, known as 'Junior.' This impressive horse excelled in the stallion class, earning a place among a distinguished lineup of competitors. Junior’s remarkable presence and performance truly made him a standout, reflecting the high caliber of horses represented at the show.

We extend our deepest gratitude to Penny for her unwavering commitment and exceptional handling skills throughout the day. She consistently adapted her approach to suit each horse, ensuring that every equine athlete was showcased to their fullest potential. Her versatility and keen understanding of each horse’s unique characteristics allowed them to shine in the arena.

We also wish to thank all the owners who entrusted us with their prized horses. It was a privilege to work with such high-quality animals, and we genuinely appreciate their confidence in our abilities to present and handle their horses.

As we reflect on this successful show, we are excited about the season ahead and look forward to more opportunities to highlight these magnificent traditional cobs. The teamwork, dedication, and passion displayed at this event not only celebrated individual accomplishments but also reinforced our commitment to providing the best of care and performance for the horses we are trusted with. Together, we eagerly anticipate future shows and the continued development of both the horses and their riders.
