Throwback Tuesdays - Penny and Dreamer Hickstead 2022

Hello everyone! Today marks the start of our Throwback Tuesday series, where we'll be sharing some of our favorite memories and moments as a team. One standout memory that we hold dear is our first visit to the Royal International Horse Show in Hickstead back in 2022.

It all began when Penny took on the challenge of re-schooling Dreamer, a horse she acquired from a field in Galway in 2020. Born in 2002, Dreamer's journey was not an easy one, especially considering he was an older horse. Through Penny's perseverance and hard work, they formed an incredible bond and began their competitive journey together.

The pivotal moment came at the Irish Pony Society Spring Show in 2022, where Penny and Dreamer competed in the R.I. qualifier for the small colored plaited pony. On their very first attempt, they secured their qualification, sparking a flurry of excitement and preparation for the big stage at Hickstead.

In July of that year, Penny and ‘Dunbeggan Dreamer’ set foot in Hickstead, soaking in the beauty of the facility and familiarizing themselves with the grandeur of the event. The next day, after meticulous preparations, they entered the ring and delivered a stellar performance during the go-round. Though they were initially not selected, their unwavering determination and a flawless showpiece propelled them to an impressive 6th place out of over 30 competitors.

This achievement was particularly special for Penny, as Dreamer symbolized the beginning of her journey in producing and nurturing horses and ponies. The bond they shared and the effort they put in to showcase their talent was truly remarkable and remains a cherished memory for our team.’ Dunbeggan Dreamer’ will always remain an integral part of our team, holding a unique and cherished place in Penny's heart. He ignited the flame of Penny's ambition to produce horses, and the success we have achieved since his arrival has been nothing short of extraordinary. We owe our achievements to the remarkable 13.2 hands high colored pony, affectionately known as 'The dream machine'. His impact on our journey has been profound, inspiring us to reach new heights and fulfill our dreams in the world of horse production.

Stay tuned for more heartfelt reflections and memorable moments in our upcoming Throwback Tuesday posts. Thank you for joining us on this nostalgic journey down memory lane!
